Where's the...

I know it's been over a month since I last updated, but the main reasons have been Work. More precisely, Paying Work and University Work.

As of this writing, I have about six days to bash out another 1250 words to get the big essay in on time and within the word limit. That, I'm sorry to say, is my main concern outside working hours right now. And after that, I have to catch up on my readings for the exam, which is two weeks after. Sorry. I'll try to knock out another strip before then, but I can guarantee nothing.

I'm also nearly out of watercolour paper, which has led me to consider the possibility of doing all the paper-based stuff as black and white again - print-ready - and add colour on the computer. This way, I don't spend so much time throwing pigment around, and thus have time to do all the other things I need to do.

The exhibition went well. Actually, strip #52 had its glass broken when being hung, and about half my works were crowded out until the nice people at 91 Aro St came to the rescue. If you missed it, like my parents did, that's a shame. However, Robbie Nielson, who does strips for Salient, wrote up this review in lieu of actually getting anything submitted. Everything was picked up, I got Dad's hammer back, picked up a poster for a souveneir.

Never mind that I was not mentioned anywhere, and that the Capital Times selected Rachel "Gothic Lolita Medical Fetish" Smythe as poster girl!

But that's something. Today I picked up a couple of cheap frames from The Warehouse, and rehoused the two A4 size Alien Smegma Pie strips, in order to reframe strip #52. Sooner or later I'll have to consider whether to hang or sell the damn things.

Anyway, I have a frame free, which I intend to use to house an upcoming art piece: the cover art for the book. However, I can either work on art for the damn book, or new art, and I can't do both. Besides, I have another course starting in July. Yes, I suck. Hopefully 2006 will be some sort of rennaissance.
